Terms of service

Effective July 27, 2026

These terms govern use of Papalotl EDU. Using the app means you agree to them. They're written to be read.

The service

Papalotl EDU generates draft report-card comments and action plans from ratings you select. Drafts are exactly that. You review, edit, and approve every comment before it goes on a report card. The teacher of record is responsible for what is published to students and families. The product never publishes anything on its own.

Accounts & acceptable use

  • Keep your credentials to yourself. You own activity under them.
  • Only enter student information you are authorized to handle in your professional role.
  • No attempts to access another school's data, probe or overload the service, or resell it without an agreement.

Plans, billing & refunds

The free tier is free forever. Paid teacher levels are billed annually, as stated at purchase, by invoice or purchase order placed on the order page, or by card where a hosted checkout is offered. What each level includes is the list on the pricing page, and the software carries the same list. School and district accounts are billed as their agreement states. Anyone who bought at an earlier published price keeps that price. Cancel any time. Paid features stop at the end of the billing period and your data remains exportable. If the product fails you during report-card season, tell us within 30 days and we'll refund that period. Teachers don't pay for tools that didn't work when it mattered.

Student data

Student records belong to you (free tier: on your device) or to your school (School Workspace, under a signed data-processing agreement). Our commitments are no sale, no ads, and no AI training on student data. They are in the privacy policy and survive these terms.

Warranty & liability

The service is provided "as is." We work hard to be accurate. Standards content is source-audited and corrections are logged publicly. Even so, we don't warrant error-free operation, and generated drafts are not professional advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes & contact

If these terms change materially, the effective date changes and account holders are notified. Governing law: California, USA. Questions: support@papalotledu.com.
